Position: Project Manager

Location: Nongstoin, Meghalaya

Job Summary: As the Project Manager for the “Supporting Tribal Adolescent Girls into Leadership, Decision Making and Self-Reliance in Nongstoin”, Meghalaya. You will lead the project’s implementation efforts. Supported by NEDSSS & NSSS, you’ll oversee activities aimed at Empowering 200 Adolescent Girls in 10 villages. Your role involves fostering relationships with stakeholders, mobilizing communities, and ensuring project adherence to best practices of empowering adolescents and their protection.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate communication and information exchange among project teams, and beneficiaries to strengthen community support networks.
  • Liaise with various community stakeholders to mobilize their involvement in project activities and garner support from local government representatives.
  • Monitor challenges and gaps in implementation, providing feedback for adjustments and supporting partners in reflection on project experiences.
  • Assist in engaging key stakeholders at district and block levels to sustain project interventions and support long-term changes in communities.
  • Facilitate formation of adolescents clubs and its functioning.
  • Support and conduct Entrepreneurship Development Program and Micro enterprise for adolescent clubs and ensure its sustainability.
  • Support coordination of project activities according to quality standards, donor requirements, and good practices.
  • Represent NEDSSS in interactions with district/block-level stakeholders in protection matters.
  • Coordinate project evaluation activities and assist agency in data collection and analysis for reporting purposes.
  • Identify and address staff and team capacity needs, providing guidance and support for effective project impact.
  • Ensure timely submission of progress reports to NEDSSS and donors.
  • To carry out any other duty assigned by the Director of NEDSSS and NSSS from time to time.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, rural development, or humanities.
  • Minimum 2 years of project support experience, preferably in gender advocacy or protection.
  • Experience in participatory planning and community engagement.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Preferred experience in programming and working with Adolescents.

Personal Skills:

  • Strong observation and analysis skills, with the ability to make sound judgments.
  • Excellent relationship management skills for working closely with partners and communities.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness in task execution.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and service-oriented.

Language Skills: Good written and spoken English and Khasi.

Travel Required: Approximately 60% travel within field intervention area of West Khasi Hills for monitoring and training purposes.

Position: Field Supervisor

Location: Nongstoin, Meghalaya

Job Purpose:

The Animator will play a crucial role in the Project by engaging with Adolescent Girls, parents, and community members at the village level. The primary focus is to form Adolescent clubs, introduce income generation activities, and introduce to leaders of adolescent clubs with Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) etc.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for development of plans and timely execution of all planned activities.
  • Responsible for Monitoring daily tasks and communication the same to Project Manager.
  • Creating reports and updates to the project Manager.
  • To form Adolescent clubs as per the project guidelines.
  • To initiate Entrepreneurship Development programs and Micro enterprise with Adolescent clubs.
  • Conduct Life Skills sessions for Adolescents in the target villages.
  • Preparation of narrative reports, impact stories, completion reports, and timely completion and submission of all deliverables.
  • Coordinate with different government departments, agencies, and other stakeholders regarding social security schemes available for adolescent girls in the villages.
  • Report challenges encounter in the field and report it to Project Manager for possible solutions.
  • Work closely with the Project Coordinator and other team members to ensure the
    smooth implementation of project activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, participation, and outcomes.
  • Collect data and support MEAL officer in monitoring and evaluation.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on activities and progress.
  • To carry out any other duty asigned by the Director of NEDSSS & NSSS.

  • Empathy and Sensitivity: Understanding the needs and challenges of Adolescents and families in vulnerable situations.
  • Initiative: Proactive in identifying and addressing issues related to Adolescent
    girls.

    dynamics.

Working Conditions:

  • The position is based in the villages of West Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya.
  • Extensive travel within the district is required.
  • Fieldwork may include working outside standard office hours to accommodate
    community schedules.
